7 Proven Ways to Make Money with Pinterest

make money on Pinterest

With over 450 million monthly users, Pinterest remains one of the best platforms to make money for free on the internet right now.

In this guide, we’ll break down 7 powerful ways to earn between $2,000 and $5,000 per month using Pinterest, even if you’re starting from scratch. No experience, no audience, and no upfront investment required — just simple, proven methods you can start today without any risk.

1. Affiliate Marketing

So for the first method, this is something I talked about a lot in my other posts — and that is affiliate marketing.

This is a proven business model that has helped people make six figures, so it’s 100% legit and something you can absolutely do too.

So what is affiliate marketing? For those of you who don’t know, affiliate marketing is basically where you get paid to promote other people’s products. You grab your custom affiliate link from any affiliate marketplace or program, and every time someone makes a purchase through that link, you earn a percentage of that sale.
We have a detailed post on how to start making money with affiliate marketing even as a beginner.

How to use it on Pinterest: To implement this on Pinterest, you upload content that points people to your affiliate link. I recommend choosing a niche — basically the theme of your Pinterest.

One niche that tends to do really well is the luxury furniture and interior niche. All you do is post pins and tag your affiliate links directly to them. So when someone comes along and loves a rug you’ve posted, the link is right there and they go ahead and make the purchase.

Tips for success:

  • Post at least 3 to 5 pins a day
  • Create a content schedule to stay consistent
  • Use Kit or Canva to create your graphics

2. Print on Demand

For those of you who aren’t too familiar with this business model, print on demand is basically where you create designs that get placed on t-shirts, mugs, totes, and basically anything else you could possibly imagine.

When someone buys, the print on demand company prints and ships the product straight to your customer. Most of the traffic to one of my Redbubble stores comes directly from Pinterest.

Why this model is great:

  • You don’t have to spend money to make money
  • You don’t hold any inventory
  • You don’t even need to be an amazing artist

You can use free platforms like Canva or Kit — or even AI — to create your designs.

How to get started:

  1. Pick a niche — this could be pets, more specifically black cats, anime, or absolutely anything you want
  2. Research competitors — browse the bestsellers section on Redbubble and recreate those designs on Canva
  3. Create mockups — use Canva, Kit, or Placeit so your designs look appealing and professional
  4. Post to Pinterest with a direct link back to your Redbubble
  5. Wait for the sales to roll in

Advice? Post as many designs as possible. When starting out, aim for around 50 designs and spend a solid day setting up your store — it’s definitely worth it. The more designs you have, the more opportunities you give yourself to be seen and make sales.

Here is a post that talks about mistakes to avoid that can fail your POD business.

3. One-Product Dropshipping

Dropshipping is a very scalable business model where you sell products that are manufactured and shipped by a supplier of your choice. Just like the previous method, you won’t ever have to touch a single one of the products you sell.

How to find a winning product: To see success with this method now, you’ll want to identify a trending product or something with a lot of wow factor.
Here’s how: Search TikTok for “TikTok made me buy it” or “Amazon finds” to spot what’s gaining traction

How to set it up:

  1. Find your winning product
  2. Add it to a Shopify store using a free template
  3. Post pictures, videos, or infographic pins on Pinterest that link directly back to your product page

4. Amazon KDP

Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) allows you to publish and sell any kind of book and earn royalties off every sale. We’re talking diaries, journals, workbooks — and you can make around $5 to $15 or more per sale depending on how you price your items.

Just like print on demand, you don’t have to touch any of the products you’re selling.

The tool that makes this easy: There’s a tool called Book Bolt that does most of the heavy lifting for you — competitor research, design, everything. The entire process of creating one of these books should take you under 10 minutes. That’s how easy it is.

How it works:

  1. Head over to Book Bolt and sign up for a free trial
  2. Do your competitor research and find the best designs to recreate
  3. Create your design inside the Book Bolt Studio
  4. Publish your book to Amazon KDP
  5. Use Pinterest to showcase mockups or infographics linking to your listings

Why this works so well: You get organic traffic from Amazon and from Pinterest — so everything is working in your favor to get more sales. Amazon also notices when external traffic is coming in, which helps you rank even higher on the platform.

5. Blogging on Medium

There are thousands of entrepreneurs all around the world currently using blogging to monetize their Pinterest and earning a pretty penny every single month doing it.

And the method I’m sharing here is even easier because you don’t need your own website and you don’t need to write your own articles.

How to get started:

  1. Create a free account on Medium — it takes less than 60 seconds, just your name and email
  2. Pick a niche — ask ChatGPT for ideas on what topic to write about
  3. Ask ChatGPT to write your blogs around that niche
  4. Publish your blogs to Medium
  5. Create infographic pins on Canva using free templates to promote your blogs on Pinterest

Don’t skip this step: If you try and post an article straight from ChatGPT to Medium, you’re going to get flagged as AI and could put your account at risk. Run it through Undetectable.ai first to reword the text so you don’t get detected. You should also make some edits to the post, so it’s not all AI.

How you make money: Medium pays you based on how many readers you get to your blog. Bloggers on Medium are getting paid on average up to $30 per thousand views.

With this method, you can make a few hundreds to a few thousands very easily if you stay consistent.

And as a bonus, you can also add affiliate links throughout your blogs for an extra income stream. This method is honestly a win-win in every way.

6. Building an Email List

An email list is a group of people that have given you permission to send them emails, usually in exchange for some kind of incentive like a discount code or a freebie.

How it works: You direct people from your Pinterest to a landing page — basically a one-page website whose only job is to collect emails.

Once you have people on your list, you can:

  • Send them offers for your own products
  • Promote your affiliate products

You can write all of your emails using ChatGPT.

Why this is so powerful: A lot of high-ticket sales tend to come from emails because they really build that sense of trust and that direct line of communication between you and your potential customers. It’s one of the most underrated tools for converting followers into buyers.

7. Sponsorships

Growing a following on Pinterest opens doors to really high-paying sponsorships where companies will literally pay you thousands of dollars just to publish a post.

How to get there:

  • Post relevant and useful content consistently
  • Build up your followers and views
  • When you’ve grown enough, you’ll slowly start seeing sponsorship emails showing up in your inbox

Of course this is going to take some time — but it’s amazing because you’re literally just getting paid to post a pin.

And on top of that, growing your Pinterest is going to benefit you in every single way — building that organic traffic that will help you with every other method mentioned in this post.

Final Thoughts

Pinterest isn’t just for inspiration, it’s a powerful traffic and income tool. Whether you’re starting with zero followers or already have an audience, consistency is what turns these methods into real income streams.

Start with one or two methods, stay consistent, and let the results build over time.
